Because it is the 2nd day of easter today and I went to an amusement park with family, I almost forgot it was monday! Luckily I saw Smilemonsters blog that reminded me ;)




So.... there is a theme going on about the most embarrassing song ;)

Well when I was around 16 years of age, I had this huge thing for the Backstreet Boys. To the point there I had my all the walls in my room full with posters (it was practically my wallpaper) and had tons of merchandise as well. Went to several concerts too. I dont listen to it as much anymore, but still the music feels nostalgic ;)

This week a song from Ilse de Lange called So Incredible. It is a pretty new song and fits my cheerful spring mood :) It is such a nice song and the lyrics are so true for me. I also stray from the path a lot and if Mark wasnt there to lead me back from time to time, I wouldnt know what to do. Well I would probably be in my own world all the time, which is ok, but not all the time.. ;) In the supermarket it is not very convienent to be in my dreamy state, which almost happens every time ;)

Musical Monday

Today I want to set Savage Garden in the spotlight.

From Wikipedia:
Savage Garden was an Australian pop duo that enjoyed major international success between 1997 and 2000. The band was composed of Darren Hayes (vocals) and Daniel Jones (keyboards, sequencing, and guitar). They had a string of hits in the late nineties, and are best remembered today for their ballad "Truly Madly Deeply", which is considered their signature song, and the songs "To the Moon and Back", "I Knew I Loved You", "Crash and Burn", "I Want You" and "Affirmation".

I loved their songs back then and I still do. It is one from the nostalic bands from my late teens. Next to their sound, I also love some of their lyrics a lot because there is real meaning behind them. Especially Affirmation. It is one of my happy songs. And most of the sayings are really true for me. That and Affirmations can give you new strength.

Musical Monday

I am still recovering and I am not spending much time behind the comp. I had to go to the hospital and it seems I have a stomach condition. But they gave me medication for it and things should be fine now. It is just that it might take me a while to recover fully. That is why there are no project 365 pictures appearing atm. I make them but I am to tired to blog them.

But back to music. I went to see the musical Tarzan this summer and it was my first time going to a musical. And it was such an awesome experience! So I will share a Tarzan medley with the best songs from the musical. It is in Dutch, but the songs are so famous, that you probably will know the meaning nevertheless :)

Yeah time for this weeks Musical Monday again!

I like to watch anime and I recently finished Clannad ~After Story~. It is a really beautiful but sad series. And in my opinion it was the best anime from the fall 2008 season! Go listen to the opening here. It is accopanied by some pretty artwork from the series!

So following Smilemonsters example here is my first musical monday!



There is not a lot of Dutch music that I like, but I do like Acda & de Munnik. They are actually comedians, who sing too. I especially like them because of their lyrics. Too bad that most of you wont be able to understand what they sing about. However, the song I am sharing today is about a father who passed away and sings to his daughter how he is all around her if she thinks of him as the wind. My dad loved the wind, so this song is very comforting to me since I truely believe he is in the wind. People who die arent really gone, you know ;)
