WOYWW: Some small projects

A while ago I came across a creative meme that is called What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday. It is all about showing what is going on on your workdesk and is hosted by Julia from Stamping Ground. I really like participating, because it is an easy way to show you what I have been working on, and it is fun to visit some other participants :)

I saw this on a Dutch blog called De Postfabriek last week. It is all about pimping postcards and creating more writing space! Easy and fun! I personally think this works best with bun illustrated postcard. Go have a look. There are a lot of posts about pimping a postcard there. Even thought the blog is in Dutch, there are a lot of images to inspire. Today is world post day! So send out a card! :D

The project above counts for Pin it and Do it. Please head over to Trish from Love, Laughter and a Touch of Insanity, for the Pin it and Do it Challenge! It is so fun! I participated many times before :)

This week I had a visitor on my desk. Luckily the painting was already dry!

This is another homework project. Blops of ink on wet paper. When it is dry I need to look what I see in it and work on that.

As seen here. This is one I already worked on with colored pencils. I darken certain parts or lighten them to create more contrast. I could work on it lots more. But these are supposed to be quick intuitive paintings. The leaves are brooches that I bought last week :D Also: the ones that I don't see anything in, I use as background for ATC's or make tags from it. So nothing goes to waste :)

WOYWW: Autumn is here!

I have been very creative in the past week, and while I don't really like autumn because it is getting colder, the autumn colors are splendid for crafting :) I even made some autumn decoration.

I made one more autumn card :) I am planning to make some more, but I am waiting on new 3D sheets I ordered. The ones I used so far, are from last year. The autumn cards will be going out in swaps and to penpals :)

Last weekend I had some friends over for a autumn related weekend. We decided to make a fall wreath. I saw it on Pinterest and I really wanted to make one. I didn't hang mine because the moss can fall off, because I can't glue every little bit on the wreath, but I like it on the table with a candle in the middle. Don't you think the tealight in the candle holder looks a bit like an apple this way?
There are a lot of links to wreaths on Pinterest but this is the one that inspired me. Which is funny because it isn't really a wreath at all ;)

Please head over to Trish from Love, Laughter and a Touch of Insanity, for a Pin it and Do it Challenge! It is so fun! I participated many times before :)

And lastly, this is my homework. I had to make a couple of fast paintings on music and see if there is a theme. Then I have to make a bigger painting with that theme in mind. It is all intuitive painting. Obviously, the painting isn't done yet, but this is my progress so far. To be continued ;)

Pin it Do It: Piggy cards

Well it is official, my blogging schedule is on it's behind ;) I managed to keep up for a long time but with my failing health lately, it is kind of hard to write long posts.

But I did do something creative for the Pin It Do It challenge hosted by Trish from Love, Laughter and a Touch of Insanity, so I will show you what I did today :)

Lately I have been inspired by buttons. Button cards, tags and bookmarks mainly. I saw some cute buttons carfts on Pinterest and I actually bought some buttons to make it happen. I saw this cute pigs on Pinterest with a button as a nose. Now it turned out that those were t-shirts, but I decided to make cards similar to those little pigs. Here is the orginial pin.

And these are the cards I made. I actually send out two of them already to Snail Mail Pals. I painted 3 more pigs but my pink square cards are used up, so now I need to buy new ones first. I really enjoyed making these. And I am certain that I will do more crafts with buttons in the future :)

Some bookish events

There are some new events coming up or going on that I would like to participate in and today I would like to share those with you. Maybe you will join in too? :)

The Book Monsters are hosting a Pick Your Thon in the weekend of 23rd till the 25th of November. Because I have many reviews to write still, I am joining in! Even though my mom will celebrate her b-day on Sunday the 25th, I will probably write most reviews on Saturday. I hope I will be able to write and schedule book reviews for all through December :)

An event for the upcoming holiday season is the Book Bloggers Holiday Card Exchange 2012. Where you will send a bookish holiday card to a partner and also get one back. I never participated in this event before but it sounds like fun! You can sign up until November 30, here at Leeswammes Blog.

Last but not least, a less bookish event: The Pin It and Do It Holiday Edition over at Love, Laughter and a Touch of Insanity. Get those holiday themed things crossed off from your Pinterest, or any other pins for that matter. It has started on November 15th and will last till December 31st. I will be joining in from the beginning of December.

Well this was the news ;) Will you be joining any of these events?

Pin it and Do it! October edition.

I participated in the first challenge where it is all about pinterest and now I am back for more. How often do we pin things to our boards, and then just leave them there, doing nothing with them? This challenge from Trish at Love, Laughter and a Touch of Insanity, helps to actually do some stuff from the things we stick a pin in.

The Details (shamelessly copy pasted):
1. To participate you will choose your level and then make (or do) that amount of pins during October 2012. Challenge ends October 31st.
2. Report back on your Pin It and Do It success. On October 1st I'll post a linky for you to link up. Ideally this will come in the form of a blog or tumblr post. Or you can post about it on Facebook or Flickr if you don’t have a blog or tumblr. Or create a board on Pinterest for this challenge. If none of the above, report your success in the Wrap-Up Post comments.
3. Anyone is welcome to join. If you need an invite to Pinterest, let me know your email address and I’ll send an invite.

The Levels:
Timid Pinner: 1-3 Pins
Pinterested: 4-7 Pins
Pin Obsessed: 8+ Pins

I will be going for the Pinterested level. Sounds like fun? Sign up here.
